Where to Look For New Construction in Barrington

Barrington still has opportunity to buy a newly constructed home. Typically speaking you'll look for a vacant lot and hire your own builder to build a custom home or find a builder that has a small subdivision with lots to buy as a package. Examples of this are Tallgrass and The Enclave at Heritage Estates. There are limited opportunities to buy new homes that are ready to move in to.

Is a New Home In Barrington right for you?

Moving into a newly constructed home has advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages are that the home is brand new, everything works, many if not all of the options were chosen by you to fit your style, builders generally provide a home warranty for the first year and sometimes longer and for a custom built home you'll pick the perfect lot in which to build.

The disadvantages are that you will have additional expenses providing window treatments, landscaping may be minimal and takes a long time to mature and depending on the size of home you build you may wait from 6 to 18 months for it to be ready.

Before buying new construction you'll need a Realtor that has experience. There is so much to think about, especially if the home is semi-custom and being built for you. Together we need to be sure it is the right purchase for you, and that you'll have a great working relationship with the builder. If you're buying a home already to move into, we'll be sure it is right for you and that you are not just settling because you want a new home. Sometimes it may be better to look for a young home to get as much of your wish list as possible.
