Chicago O'Hare & Midway

Airports

Chicago has two busy airports, O'Hare and Midway.

The location of Barrington means most business travelers and visitors will use Chicago O'Hare. It is the second busiest airport in America-has previously held the top spot-so the options for traveling to cities through-out the USA and the world are wide.

There are 4 national terminals and one international. So whether you have to travel for business, or you have guests coming to stay, you be pleased to know the trip to O'Hare takes about 35 minutes, a little long at rush times. All the main airline companies use O'Hare, American, United, Delta, British Airways, Quantas, and many more. So if you want to maintain your miles you should be OK.

Driving in and out of this large airport is not the worst. I have been to many that have totally confused me, included Heathrow in London; O'Hare I find to be easy to navigate. Many of the Toll roads feed into the airport. There is plenty of parking, short and long term. O'Hare has a Kiss n Fly but be prepared to move off quick, the traffic police will want you to drive off quick because it can get very busy. For longer goodbyes, use the short term parking.

The International terminal has it's own parking lot just for arrivals. You may not fly out from this terminal for an international flight, it depends on your carrier, so just bear in mind where you leave and where you'll arrive. Most will use the long term parking unless they have a limo.

Midway Airport. Milwaukee Airport.

Located south of Chicago is Midway airport. Smaller than O'Hare it is often used by travelers living south of the city but can be an option for vacation type flights depending on the carrier. It is about an hours drive from Barrington. Another option is Milwakee Airport in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Whilst farther away than either of Chicago's airports it might be suitable depending on who you want to fly with and where you want to go to.

Barrington to O'Hare is easy to reach, either south on Barrington Road to I-90 or south on Route 53 to I-90 taking exit I-190 which takes you right into the center of the airport. Learn about the Barrington to Chicago commute times.
