We have passed the third complete quarter of 2009 and things are looking good. I often hear the terms: "Nothing is selling" or It's Not Getting any Better" So what better way to show that homes are selling, and our market is showing sings of recovery, than to plot three large areas in Cook and Lake County Illinois and see not only how many homes are selling but whether the trend is up, down or sideways.
The following chart shows homes sales in 3 areas.
- Barrington Homes - Everything in zip code 60010
- Palatine Homes - Everything in zip code 60067
- Lake Zurich area homes - Everything in zip code 60047
By comparing 3 areas we can see the trend is that homes are selling and sales are on the rise. Each area is following a very similar trend.We typically expect sales to increase once the winter weather has passed, and yes we also expect a decline once the weather gets colder. So far the indication for all 3 areas is good.
