Fox River Grove is a small town with just over 5200 residents covering 1.66 miles of land. As the name suggests the town is by the Fox River, the entire town being on the south side of the river. It's also known for The Norge Ski Club and jump, the oldest continuously open ski club in the USA. Right next door to the jump, which towers into the sky, is the Windy City Balloon Port from which hot air balloons take off. It's also home to Castle Vianden, also known as Bettendorf Castle; yes it really is a castle and had been open to the public, last used as a private residence.

The town is conveniently located on the junction of Route 14 and Route 22 with a Metra station for commuters to Chicago. The shopping center is small but has the essential grocery store, post office, pharmacy, some fast food restuarants, gas stations and banks. I use it as my go to place as the town is close to Barrington Hills and Lake Barrington, much quicker for me than going into Barrington or Lake Zurich, plus it's much quieter.

For such a little town Fox River Grove has a lot going for it and that's also true for real estate here. Some of the towns residents fall within the Barrington School district, making those homes desireable. Of course if you're looking for waterfront homes, there's nothing as good as living on the river shore, but properties are limited and not often available, so patience will be needed. You'll also find a few condos and townhomes but for the most part it's single family homes.
