The advantages are that the home is brand new, everything works, many of the options were chosen by you to fit your style, builders generally provide a home warranty for the first year and sometimes longer. The disadvantages are that you will have additional expenses providing window treatments, landscaping may be minimal and takes a long time to mature. Before buying new construction you'll need a Realtor that has experience. There is so much to think about, especially if the home is semi-custom and being built for you. Together we need to be sure it is the right purchase for you, and that you'll have a great working relationship with the builder. Sometimes it may be better to look for a young home to get as much of your wish list as possible.
